2008 Elections
WSPA held elections for its 2008-2009 officers and director positions in april of 2009. There are still some open positions. If you would like to be considered for a position with WSPA, please contact WSPA President, Brian Haberly.
WSPA is managed by a Board of Directors which consists of the following:
-
Each of the five officers (President, VP Membership, VP Professional Development,
Secretary and Treasurer)
-
One director for each chapter
-
The immediate Past President
-
At-Large Directors for Eastern and Western Washington
In addition there are a number of committee chairs, section chairs,
and coordinators for special activites or functions. Although
these coordinators and committee chairs do not vote at Board meetings, they
are very much involved in and important to the management of the Association.
We also have contracted with Administration
Services, Inc. of Tukwila, Washington, for routine administrative
functions such as maintenance of the membership database, handling simple
inquiries, preparation of mailing labels, file storage, etc.
Board meetings are held at least once each quarter, at various locations
around the state, or by conference telephone when a meeting is not feasible.
The first summer Board meeting is often a one or two day retreat.
Members are welcome at any Board meeting. Committee chairs, section
chairs, and coordinators are encouraged to attend whenever possible.
Check our online calendar for the next scheduled
Board meeting.
In between Board meetings, the officers, directors, chairs, and coordinators
keep in touch frequently via e-mail and telephone. Although the President
has primary responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Association,
WSPA is very much a grassroots organization. We try to involve all officers,
directors, section chairs, committee chairs, and coordinators -- and
the membership at large -- as much as possible. Management welcomes
the input of all members.
