Northwest Chapter

The Northwest Chapter presently encompasses Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan, and Island Counties in the northwest corner of the state. There is also a quality paralegal training program (ABA Approved) at Skagit Valley College in Mt. Vernon.

We have planned monthly meetings in 2007 and 2008 on the third Wednesday of most months, at noon, at locations alternating between Mt. Vernon and Bellingham.  See the WSPA Calendar page for specific event information, dates and times.

The Skagit Valley is a major producer of tulips and other flowers.

May 1, 2007 - Law Day is observed in Skagit County. Patti Worl, Skagit County Law Librarian and Darlene Hoezee, a library volunteer, are ready to help members of the public at Law Day.

On October 28, 2006, “Make A Difference Day”, we joined forces with the Whatcom County Young Lawyers Association and collected donations for the Whatcom Humane Society, with a special emphasis on office supplies.  We delivered cases of copy paper, boxes of pens and markers, as well as gift cards and cash donations to be used to purchase other needed supplies.  We were also able to deliver towels, cat and dog toys and pet food.  The office staff at the WHS was very pleased by the donations, which amounted to over $600.
