Melissa Edlund

Military Paralegal Outreach Coordinator

Melissa Edlund is a paralegal with the City of Kent. She formerly was employed with the Cowan Smith Kirk Gaston law firm, specializing in DUI defense.   She also contracts with the King County Superior Court as a court monitor for the Partnership for Youth Justice program dealing with juvenile offenders.   Prior to working in private practice, she was a paralegal with the King County Prosecutor’s Office in the District Court Unit.  She also was a court clerk with King County District Court, Issaquah Division for over 7 years. 

Melissa graduated in 1992 from Seattle University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice.  In 1994 she received her paralegal certification through the National Academy for Paralegal Studies.
